The seminar will provide an opportunity to share opinions and discuss best practices, ICS e-learning experience strategies and instruments to promote an extensive dissemination of high level knowledge in science and high technology. In fact, the technology to sustain advanced e-learning activities is generally already available and relatively cheap. The lack of use of the existing technology for e-learning activities in advanced scientific fields is related to two issues: an insufficient production of relevant contents, limited access i.e. technical barriers and costs for users, mainly located in African Countries. Moreover, for most of the content providers/producers the main goal is not the support of the scientific communities of developing countries or of countries in economic transition, in selected and strategic fields at post graduate level; their target generally involves the students (mainly undergraduate) as individuals who cannot attend classes, but is able to pay for a distant learning course and have an easy and cheap fast internet access.Another important aspect to be discussed during the seminar is the set up and management of a dynamic virtual network of research centres/institutions which can actively participate in the production, dissemination and utilization of e-learning contents and instruments in advanced scientific fields in aid of the least developed countries.Should you be interested in being involved in this activity, please register at www.ict4allforum.tn/index.php or send us your contacts, to bertogli@ics.trieste.it or sonia.abdellatif@mincom.tn.In case you are not able to attend the above events, we would appreciate if you could recommend other institutions to be invited.
